TECHNICALS VISITS

Tuesday 24 June

SEM-REV floating wind turbine & Saint Nazaire offshore wind farm: 7:00 - 14:30 or 10:30 - 18:00

SEM-REV
First European site for multi-technology offshore testing that is connected to the grid. It has all the equipment - offshore and on land - to develop, test and improve energy recovery systems (mainly from wind and wave sources). It will play a decisive role in meeting the challenge of Marine Renewable Energy development in France and helping industrialists to develop new energy production capacities.
Created in 2007 by Centrale Nantes, SEM-REV is operated since 2023 by the OPEN-C Foundation which coordinates, develops and manages offshore tests, making it Europe's largest offshore testing centre.

SAINT-NAZAIRE OFFSHORE WIND FARM
The wind farm comprises 80 offshore wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6 Megawatts (MW), for a total output of 480 MW.
The turbines are located between 12 and 20 km off the coast of Loire-Atlantique, over a total surface area of 78 km², at depths of between 12 and 25 m. Production covers the equivalent of 20% of the Loire-Atlantique region's electricity consumption.

Maximum 110 places for each visit. Additional event fee with lunchbox included 30€
Registration opens on 5 May
